CK-MB

CK-MB (Creatine Kinase-MB) is a cardiac biomarker used to help evaluate heart muscle injury. The CK-MB test measures the MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase, which is associated predominantly with cardiac muscle.

Clinical Significance

• Used as a cardiac marker to support the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

• Helps assess suspected myocardial injury when interpreted alongside clinical findings and other cardiac biomarkers.

• CK-MB measurements may also be useful in monitoring changes in cardiac injury over time.
