FDX VISIONARY DR
Fast, High-Resolution Bone Imaging and Assessment
The FDX Visionary-DR is a 2D Fan-Beam bone densitometry system designed for fast, high-quality routine examinations used in osteoporosis assessment, including the hip, spine, and forearm. It also supports a broader range of applications covering orthopedics, pediatrics, lateral spine, morphometry, and whole-body assessment.
Key Features
2D Fan-Beam technology — uses a multi-element detector array to provide high-resolution imaging for bone assessment.
Fast examinations — designed to complete an examination in approximately 15 seconds per site.
Multisite osteoporosis assessment — supports hip, dual hip, spine, forearm, and whole-body examinations.
Fracture risk assessment — includes tools such as FRAX, morphometric assessment, and Digital Vertebral Assessment (DVA).
Body composition analysis — provides regional measurements of bone, lean, and fat components for weight management, sports medicine, and medical applications.
Pediatric applications — supports monitoring of children's growth and skeletal age comparison.
Orthopedic assessment — provides imaging applications for the femur, knee, lateral knee, elbow, shoulder, forearm, foot, hand, and spine.
Auto positioning — supports streamlined patient positioning and examination workflow.
Multi-user connectivity — supports DICOM push, print, worklist, and shared database access across workstations.
Intuitive software — provides an ergonomic interface with automatic ROI functions and configurable interface options.
Advanced Imaging Technology
The FDX Visionary-DR uses 2D Fan-Beam technology with a multi-element detector array. The supplied specifications describe a 256-pixel configuration arranged as 4 × 64 elements, designed to provide high image resolution for diagnostic assessment.
The system is designed to complete examinations in approximately 15 seconds per site, supporting efficient routine imaging and higher examination throughput.
Osteoporosis and Fracture Risk Assessment
The system supports routine osteoporosis examinations of the hip, dual hip, spine, and forearm, along with whole-body and vertebral assessments.
Fracture risk can be evaluated using integrated tools including the FRAX assessment, morphometric measurements based on parameters such as angles and distances, and Digital Vertebral Assessment (DVA) for lateral vertebral fracture assessment.
Extended Clinical Applications
Beyond routine bone density assessment, the FDX Visionary-DR provides dedicated applications for different clinical requirements.
The Pediatric module supports children's growth monitoring and skeletal age comparison. The Orthopedic module covers multiple anatomical regions, including the femur, knee, elbow, shoulder, forearm, foot, hand, and spine.
The Body Composition application provides measurements of Bone%, Lean%, and Fat% by body region, supporting applications such as weight management and sports medicine.
Software and Workflow
The system uses an intuitive, ergonomic software interface designed to simplify routine examinations and support efficient workflow. Functions include automatic ROI selection, auto positioning, multi-report creation, and patient and doctor letter editing.
For data management and connectivity, the system supports DICOM push, print, and worklist, along with data import from other bone densitometers and multi-user workstation access.
The supplied information also describes 3D-DXA, which uses routine BMD images to model a 3D image of the femur and provide additional information about bone structure. This feature is stated to be available only on the DMS range.
