LIQUIXX Creatinine 4 x 60 ml
Creatinine
Creatinine is a waste product produced in muscles from the metabolism of creatine, a compound involved in energy storage and utilization. It is filtered primarily by the kidneys, making serum creatinine measurement an important laboratory test for assessing renal function.
Clinical Significance
Serum creatinine is commonly used to evaluate kidney function.
Increased creatinine levels may indicate reduced renal filtration or impaired kidney function.
Serum creatinine may remain within the reference range until kidney function has declined substantially, meaning a significant reduction in renal function can occur before a noticeable rise in creatinine is observed.
Creatinine results are often interpreted together with other measures of kidney function, such as estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
